Support Flood Victims
It is to be recalled that the death toll from the August 5th 2006 flooding in Dire Dawa town, Eastern Ethiopia, has claimed the lives of more than 250 people and has displaced more than 10,000 people. The flood also washed away numerous residential areas, service rendering institutions and domestic animals.
Various civil society organizations, private and government employees, non-governmental organizations and governmental organizations continue making pledges of financial and material assistance in support of flood victims in Dire Dawa town.
Expressing its condolences and deepest sympathy to the affected families, the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Tokyo calls upon all Ethiopians and foreign nationals to support the on-going relief and recovery efforts.
